This is one hell of a fun album to own. We have 5 rare tracks from a March 1982 rehearsal where the band performs 3 Diamond head tracks as well as two own penned tracks. The Prince and Am I Evil comes as no surprise but the major thing here is that we can hear the band perform another track from Diamond Head’s 1980 debut album and thats Sucking My Love. Thanks to their bass player at the time, Ron McGovney, for sharing this historic document. Ist also fun to hear such an early version of Jump In the Fire that differs a bit from the Kill em All version or Am I Evil where Ron McGovney stepped in to lay down the second lead guitar part. This session was done just 2 months after the band was formed and James were not playing guitar at this point, only singing. Whiplash and No Remorse was recorded at the KUSF radio in March of 1983 and thees are the only studio recordings that exist from the time when both Mustaine and Burton were in the band together. A live version of the Budgie track Breadfan from a live show in Seattle in August of 1989. Another rarity is a live version of Trapped Under Ice which was recorded live at L’Espace Balard in Paris in 1984 during their European Ride The Lightning tour. This track was only performed live twice during the 80s and 90s. So this is a rare treat indeed. Then we have another cool version of Am I Evil. This time its a live version from Teh Forum in Los Angeles in February of 1992. The odd thing here is that the band fools around change instruments. So we have Kirk on bass, James on drums, Jason on guitar and then we can hear Lars Ulrich sing his version of Am I Evil.
