When you think of the music legacy of Tampa, Florida you think of death metal and not melodic hardrock. But Millenium is one of those band that actually came from Tampa and took a much more melodic road then many of their ancestors. After their selftitled album (1997) and Angelfire (1999) vocalist Todd Plant decided to move on and the band brought in a rather unknown Norwegian vocalist that went under the name of Jorn Lande. Jorn would eventually become much bigger than Millenium but fans of Jorn Lande really should check this out as well. Jorn really shows off the range of his vocals on this hard rocking release. Brilliant musicians and vocals and they also managed to write songs that matched their talents. From the amazing title track, to the excellent Wheels Are Turning and the prog goodness of Masquerade its all here. Hourglass really was one of the best melodic hard rock releases in the year 2000 but unfortunately most people didnt even knew that the band excisted. Luckily Lande fans are now going back to see what he did before his solo career and stumble upon this release. This has given Hourglass and Millenium a second chance. So if you adore Jorn’s voice than grab this one.
