The long-awaited 2017 comeback album from the cult US Death Metal masters represents the band’s first release since 1997. Morta Skuld is one of the original bands from the golden era of death metal that was overshadowed by bigger bands at the time .Their debut album Dying Remains is a great , old school album of brutal simplicity. Most of the band’s discography is obscure due to poor label distribution but is currently being re-issued through Peaceville records . Wounds Deeper Than Time is a crushing comeback album from a band that’s been gone for over 20 years . While the singer is the only original member, this new incarnation of the band is the sharpest. The drumming and guitars are excellent, as are the furious vocals. Fans of Death , Obituary , Malevolent Creation and Grave would only do a disservice to themselves for not picking this one up. While not reinventing the wheel, Morta Skuld return from the grave with a ferocious old school death metal album that will crush your skull.
