Mortal Sin were one of the first Australian thrash metal bands to achieve widespread recognition outside of the land down under. Inspired by the genre’s earliest champions (especially Metallica and Anthrax) they caused quite a stir with their excellent 1987 debut, ‘Mayhemic Destruction’. Considered a minor thrash classic in its time, the album even had mighty Kerrang! Magazine touting them as the ‘next big thing,’ but their 1989 follow-up, ‘Face Of Despair’, released by major label Polygram records, was a slight step back. While still enjoyable in its own right, with this album Mortal Sin became just another thrash band lost in a sea of Metallica clones and unfortunately they would never find their way out. This English flexi disc single was released to promote the album Face Of Despair and it features excerpts from three tracks from the coming album. The opening track, I Am Immortal, is a good proof that Mortal Sin was capable of writing great songs. This is certainly worth the effort for any fan of 80’s thrash metal.
Track list:
1. I Am Immortal
2. For Richer For Poorer
3. Voyage Of The Disturbed
