These two guys have watched way too many splatter flicks, and you got to love them for it. A disturbing soundbite from a horror movie precedes each blast of death metal. This is their first recording and it should herald a long career of brutal noise, paying homage to sick flicks. One can wager that the gorecore here is better than any of the Z-movies quoted. This is a very interesting album if you’re into Mortician. If you don’t know them I recommend you to start with another album (Zombie Apocalypse or Domain of Death), and if you don’t like Mortician, you never will so forget it. This album features the Mortal Massacre 7” and the Brutally Mutilated 7” from 1990. The cool thing about this compilation is that you can also hear what Mortician sounds like live and with a real drummer. The two live concerts are recorded at two different festivals and has a surprisingly good quality. If you’re a fan of Mortician you will like it and if youre curious to what Mortician is all about then start with any other of their albums
