Description

Moss Upon The Skull are a progressive death metal quartet from Brussels, Belgium, formed in 2010. The band claim inspiration from Gorguts, Ved Buens Ende, Pestilence, Absu, StarGazer, Immolation and Morbid Angel, as well as 1970s progressive rock groups like Gentle Giant, Popol Vuh, Magma and Dun. The band’s 2014 debut was the two-track vinyl single Imperial Summoning. It was followed in 216 by the 4-track cassette The Scourge Of Ages which brought the group even more positive press. After these two releases the band managed to secure a record deal. This cassette has now been released on cd with the two track vinyl single tracks as bonus. These intense songs combine adventurous songwriting with whiplash inducing rhythm work in order to open your third eye to visions from beyond material reality. Comparable to old masters like Death, Cynic, Atheist and Sadist, the band also share similarities with Horrendous, Venenum, Execration and Virus.
