Motley Crue’s Dr.Feelgood album, that was released in 1989, was the bands biggest success to date and the following tour saw the band playing big arenas. However the tour, the money, the drugs and the success would also start to tear the band apart. The band had problems writing a new album and the label released a compilation album, Decade Of Decadence 1981-1991, in 1991 to sell more albums while the demand for anything new with Crue where hot. They also put the band out on the Monsters Of Rock tour in 1991 where they were sharing the bill with Ac/dc once again. The rest of the line-up was Metallica, Queensrÿche and the Black Crowes. For this tour the band dropped their back-up singers, The Nasty Habits, and used pre-recorded tapes instead. On the 25th of August 1991 the tour hit the St.Jackobs Stadion in Basel, Switzerland where this album is recorded. Nikki Sixx looked back on the tour; This was during the Dr. Feelgood era. We were headlining almost everywhere and we’re on with Ac/dc again! But the great thing is that Ac/dc are so brilliant they never put a foot wrong. So, if you wanna live with them you have to up your game. That’s what they did for us in 1991. Made us realize that however great we thought we were at the time, we still had to get better just to try and compete with them.I think we had a great slot on the bill. The time we went on suited us, because the crowd were so up for us. Any later in the day and we might have lost our moment.
