Description

Narnia was formed in 1996 by Christian Rivel/Liljegren and Carl Johan Grimmark in Jönköping, Sweden. The band debuted in 1997 with Awakening. Back then there really wasnt a band as the debut was recorded by the duo only. That means that its basically a one man musical outfit as Carl Johan does everything besides singing which is handed by Christian. And in all honesty the duo sounds incredible. The album was very wel received by the Christian metal fans and power metal fans and the duo had to put a band together as they were offered to tour with the mighty Ronnie James Dio. Christian and Carl Johan would find a band and returned with Long Live The King, an album that shares the gospels of Christ even more than their debut. The follow up would also be more technical and yaers later the band show some incredible neo classical skills. However thats a different story. Awakening is a fine debut and particularly noteworthy is the wonderful instrumental The Return Of Aslan.
