And the mighty metal machine that is Nasty Savage returns with their long announced comeback album. And it’s all still there, the mazy riffs, the merciless drumming and especially the charismatic voice of super psycho Nasty Ronnie. It sounds completely like the old efforts, some songs could be directly from 1986 (‘Anguish’), no kidding. Nasty Savage continues like ten years hadn’t passed since the recording of ‘Penetration Point’. Amazingly the band even manages to keep the same line-up from the last album. ‘Psycho Psycho’ is the perfect melding of pure American heavy metal and unadulterated thrash metal. These guys are just stinking’ heavy. Fans of the bands first two albums may be put off by the more aggressive nature of ‘Psycho Psycho’, while fans of the more technical thrash end of the bands last studio album before their break-up may notice a slight return to the more basic metal formula of those early platters. No doubt this album falls somewhere in between the two styles. The self titled lead off track is infectious. The repetitive chorus will stick to your brain like gum on a pair of Converse. Fozzy vocalist, and WWE Superstar Chris Jerico makes a guest appearance on three tracks here as well. ‘Savage Desire’ are already known from the ‘Wage Of Mayhem’ demo. This version is now played in a newer version and it’s even better than before, in my opinion. The Nasty Savage comeback album deserves a couple of spins on your player.
