With their two first albums, Nguru made their mark as a solid rock in the Swiss punk rock / ska scene and with their third album “Songs From The Boondocks” they jumped onto the stages of some of Switzerland’s biggest festivals (Gurten, Greenfield etc.). They also joined the Deconstruction Tour and played the most known clubs in Switzerland (Dynamo Zurich, Kofmehl Solothurn, Abart Zurich, Schuur Lucerne, Grabenhalle St. Gallen, Remise Wil, Bierhübeli Bern, NED Montreux etc) and at times even in other countries (France, Czech Republic etc.). By their fourth release “IV: With Bleeding Hearts Through Burning Skies” Nguru, with their new singer Carlo Egle, could effortlessly tie in with the earlier success. All of the band’s releases were followed by many positive reviews in the relevant international music press and additionally, the sales reflected the bands prestige: Nguru’s four albums on their former label Leech Records have been among the best-selling CDs of their genre in Switzerland. On their fifth album “Wolfpack” Nguru are presenting their offbeat rock sounds even more versatilely than before. Catchy melancholic melodies, punk rock guitars, kicking reggae beats and melodic uptempo ska make the sound of the six guys from the Swiss Alps unmistakeable – even twenty years after the formation of the band.
