Dont know where to start when it comes to the Swedish death metal guru Rogga Johansson. Pictures proves he has a family but I wonder if he ever sees them. If so, then this man must have more hours in a day then the rest of us mortals. Not only has he a band for every letter of the alphabet, he still never says no when new or old friends and musicians wants to blast out some death metal. And even more odd is that he still finds time to assist other musicians when they get into songwriting troubles. There must be a trillion riffs this man has worked on. 2021 was the year when the debut album with Obesity finally saw the light of day. Here you find Rogga performing with Defaced Creation guitarist Jörgen Bylander and Deranged and Murder Corporation guitarist Johan Axelsson. The three of them had played before back in 2001-2002 when both Jörgen and Rogga stepped in as part of the Deranged live line-up for their 2001-2002 European tour. The three kept contact and a talk and idea to work again sometimes in the future has always been tossed around. Now the time is here. The fearsome three calls themselves Obesity and have released Excursions Into Gluttony. The album opens with Cut Boned And Seasoned and set the pace for the album at once. Then it never slows down until track 8, Lets Flesh Around or when it ends with the death metal ballad Love Me Tendered. The album only features small parts of mid-tempo riffs and not much of melody. They simply blast out fast death metal like their life depended on it. Brutal and fun
