Description
Still sealed double cd. Limited 500 copies
Oblivion is one of the best US power metal bands (Florida) of all time to never have released an official full length album. Their debut demo, Quest For Power, was released in 1986 and its an eipc, aggressive and dark demo. Fans of Savatage The Dungeons Are Calling as well as Liege Lord or any fan of 80s US power metal need to hear this. Vocalist Patrick Brown is absolutely unique and unstoppable with a merciless vibrato that could demolish anything in its path if it truly wanted to, but seems more content in making twisted schemes involving some sort of dark magic. At his raspiest he evokes a bit of David Wayne and at his cleanest Warrel Dane, but he definitely has the power and individuality to stand on his own. He’s far from a copy of either. Their second demo Rebirth was released in 1988 and this one has a far better production then their debut. This one is another top demo that reeks early Liege Lord, early Savatage and Sanctuary. This band could have been huge and its shame we only have two demos as the band wrote top class metal and still remained virtually unknown. The Ultimate Anthology double album features theese two demos as well as a second album featuring 6 unreleased live songs. Simply put, this is one of the best slabs of unknown US power metal out there.
