Orcrists 2017 album The Return Of Armageddon follows in the same pattern as the previous Catacomb (2016) and Fallen (2011). The album is cold and harsh with its winter feel. It combines ice cold riffs with melancholic sounds, which will send a shiver over your backbone and create darkest sadness in your minds. This isnt a technical album but its the simplicity that give the album its charm. You didn’t need thousands of chords a minute to make black metal music. You could repeat the same chord over and over and still create an atmosphere that will freeze youre heart. Orcrist has exactly that vibe to this album. No choirs, no symphonic arrangements just basic black metal
