The German act Outrage was formed back in 1983 when they were just a demo act. But after five demos the band went into a hiatus untl the 21st century. Music wise the band hadn’t change much during the years off. This is a mix of old school speed/thrash with vocals and lyrical concepts that place them slightly into that same black/death metal category that spawned Venom, Celtic Frost and Bulldozer. Their 2017 album, And The Bedlam Broke Loose, shows that this band will stick to their style which they’ve developed over the years, not caring for any new trends, and after almost 35 years they still remain Germany’s best kept secret. That’s why Outrage are no retro band – they are simply an old band who still know how to thrash like it’s 1984. This album brings 12 new compositions and one track which they wrote in 1982 (so one year before the band actually got its name) – and the best thing is it’s not easy to tell which one it is. If you are a serious fan of the first wave of black metal and ’80s evil thrash, and if you worship bands like Sodom, old Celtic Frost, Hellhammer, Venom, Poison, Bulldozer, Flames or Possessed then this album is absolutely essential.
