Overkill is a hard/punk rock/heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, USA, that was formed in 1980. They were one of the first bands to attempt to merge punk rock and heavy metal. They released their debut single, Overkill, in 1982. They also got a track on the Metal Massacre II compilation. However when bassplayer Ron Cordy left to join the band Bitch the Overkill years were over. In 1985, SST Records issued the Triumph Of The Will album posthumously. Later re-issues had the band named changed to Overkill L.A and when the band did some reunion shows in 2005 they called themselves SST Overkill, Both changes was to avoid confusion with the more well known metal act Overkill. Triumph Of The Will is known for its relentless energy, blistering guitar riffs, and thunderous drumming. The band’s raw and intense vocals add to the overall aggression of the album, making it a must-listen for fans.
