Pagan Hellfire is a one man black metal project from Nova Scotia Canada. The music is mid-paced rather primitive and crude sounding. The songs are well crafted and mastermind Incarnatus is competent at screeches and drums, but he’s incredibly fluent with guitars. The atmosphere (always important in black metal) is rather frosty, grim and the vocals (in the typical style) blend well with this atmosphere. They are not too loud, thus not covering the music but still intense and cold. All the pieces blend well together so there are no real standout tracks. All in all a very solid, recommended release for fans of more obscure black metal.
