Description
Double cd
This one was recorded at the Finders Park Tennis Centre in Melbourne, Australia on the 17th of March 1995 when opening act The Meanies and Pearl Jam managed to sell out the complete 13 000 visitors arena. 1995 was the year that Pearl Jam got the chance to do their first tour of Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, starting with three shows in Japan. Other dates included Taipei (Taiwan), Manila (Philippines), Singapore, Bangkok (Thailand) and ten shows in Australia and two in New Zealand. This was the second night at Flinders Park, and both nights were sold out. The previous night the band had some problems with the security that handled the crowd roughly but the band managed to get new security guards for their second show and Eddie says, We got the guys from last night the fuck outta here. This show was also broadcast on Australian radio and Eddie says; It’s not just us tonight, we’re on the radio. I just thought I’d warn you, you know, if you, if you’re supposed to be at your friend’s house spending the night, you weren’t allowed to come, don’t get your voice on the radio, we don’t want you to get in trouble. Ah fuck it, get in trouble!. Later he says, Fine bunch of mutants we got here… we’re all mutants up here, too. Theres also a full moon this night and Eddie has taken notice of that and makes comments: It’s really too bad they couldn’t open the roof in this place cuz there’s a fuckin full moon out there that we’re missing… so if someone’s out there listening to us in their car, stick your head out the window… at home, go to the windows. Things happen in a full moon, good things, bad things, things happen. Eddie also acknowledges his wife, Beth: She’s back home, so it’s not as if she’s going to hear this on the radio, but it’s me and Beth’s 129 month anniversary today. And I’m going to sing the first line of this famous New Zealand song. This is for her… I got you, and that’s all I want. (I Got You). That’s for her. This one’s for you…, leading to Better Man. Musically the two songs Jeremy and Even Flow are both sporting different intros and Dave Grohl from Nirvana and Foo Fighters are joining the band on stage for the encore Rockin’ In The Free World. This double album also features 8 rare live cover tunes as bonus
