Pegasus is a young trio from Norrkoping, Sweden that blends progressive rock with jazz and fusion and works with a horn section by the name of The Bellerophones. When the band started out in 2006 they were more of a straight forward progressive-rock band influenced by Gentle Giant, Genesis, King Crimson. But over the years the band members Joel Selsfors – keyboards, Rasmus Carlson – bass and Simon Selsfors – drums wanted to play more challenging music then they previously had. In August of 2011, after several years of practice and playing the trio’s first album was released, Gormenghast – A homage to the works of fantasy writer Merwyn Peak. It was also around this time that the band expanded their sound by assembling a horn section, The Bellerophones – Hannes Bannich on alto saxophone, Albin Lagg on trumpet and Oscar Lejonclou on french horn. This release from October of 2012 is the first release this sextet recorded.
