Cult legend status doesn’t even begin to describe the loyalty and respect doom-metal fans have bestowed on this influential act. Nearly every current doom/stoner band owes their soul (or at least a bunch of riffs) to Pentagram. Cathedral, Spirit Caravan, Goatsnake, High On Fire/Sleep, St. Vitus, Trouble…the list of those touched by the Pentagram “craft” is endless! If Black Sabbath are the godfathers of doom/metal, Pentagram are the Godsons! True harbringers of despair and gloom! Their album ‘Review Your Choices’, came out in 1999, and although it has a slightly different feel than the previous three, it is definitely their heaviest. Many old songs recorded from the 70s were re-recorded for this album and it’s interesting to compare versions.
