Cult legend status doesn’t even begin to describe the loyalty and respect doom-metal fans have bestowed on this influential act. Nearly every current doom/stoner band owes their soul (or at least a bunch of riffs) to Pentagram. Cathedral, Spirit Caravan, Goatsnake, High On Fire/Sleep, St. Vitus, Trouble…the list of those touched by the Pentagram “craft” is endless! If Black Sabbath are the godfathers of doom/metal, Pentagram are the Godsons! True harbringers of despair and gloom. Bobby Liebling and Joe Hasselvander resurrected Pentagram anno 1996 and recorded an incredible four song demo that was originally meant to be for record companies only. These rare recordings have never been released before. Three of the tracks ended up in re-recorded versions on their 1999 return album ‘Review Your Choices’. But the fourth song, the brilliant ‘Because I Made It’, has never made it onto any other release. This is a must for all doom lovers.
