The Phenomena Project is a music concept, which has its original music roots within the rock genre accumulating. The band has album sales of over 1.2 million Worldwide. Music and performance contributions are from musicians such as; Mel Galley (Trapeze and Whitesnake), Brian May (Queen), Glenn Hughes (Trapeze and Deep Purple), Richard Bailey (Magnum), Cozy Powell (Whitesnake), Rick Saunders (Fairport Convention), Don Airey (Deep Purple), John Wetton (UK and Asia), Scott Gorham (Thin Lizzy), Ray Gillen (Black Sabbath), Neil Murray (Whitesnake and Black Sabbath), Leif Johansen (21 Guns), Michael Sturgis (Wishbone Ash) Keith Murrell (Mamas Boys) and many others. The third album, II – Inner Vision, was released in 1992 and its one step beyond the supremacy of II – Dream Runner in terms of AOR-ism but less British than the two predecessors! With top artists like Scott Gorham and Brian May in the projects ranks, Keith Murell proved to be the closing chapter for the time. The reason for the limited line-up was Galleys idea to handle a more normal band status, so as to tour for the promotion of all the albums. Some trivia info speaks for the will of Freddy Mercury himself willing to do some back-up singing for the album but did not manage to, eventually. Phenomena was not only a British AOR project, as said by many. This gathering, the songs exposed, the media relevance, the impact of these three recordings the band did in the (then) monolithic Rock/Metal industry was phenomenal. If only – as said, again – the contractual/personal differences were not that unsurpassed, maybe this legacy would be capable enough of carrying on to the new flat world order.
