Description

Rare Japanese album Here is another instalment of the Philip – The Man And His Music series that has been very successful. 1978 saw Philip Lynott and Gary Moore reunite again. Philip was always popping in and out of recording studios whenever he got a chance. In 1978 he had several of these chances early in the year. Philip and Gary seem to bring out the best in each other and these rare unreleased tracks prove this. Rocklila (misspelled) is an unreleased track that was written by Jimmy Bain. The version of A Night in the Life of an Old Blues Singer is a longer version then was released as the b-side of Philip's solo single Nineteen in 1984. Ode To A Black Man is the original version of a song that would turn up later in different version on Philip's Solo In Soho album. With Spanish Guitar we get to hear a demo version with different lyrics. Cold Black Night is another unreleased song from the Ramport Studio Session. Parissienne Walkways is yet another demo version that differs from the version that was eventually released. Are You Ready was an instant crowd favourite when the band played live. Many people assumed the band never recorded a studio version of Are You Ready but here you have it a studio version with different lyrics!! Black Mail is seeing the light of day for the first time. Waiting For An Alibi and Fanatical Fascist are both different takes that were to later appear on Thin Lizzy's Black Rose album and Gary Moore's Back On The Streets album respectively. Leaving Town, is another unreleased track and the album ends with five unlisted demo songs that are from Trend Studios 1967 to 1969. Track listing: 1. Rocklila 2.
