The Possessed To Skate album collects a whopping 41 tracks from skate-punk and grind and hardcore bands like Charles Bronson, Pretentious Assholes, Despise You, Palatka, Asshole Parade, Spazz, and Unanswered. Palatka’s Bicentennial, Spazz’s Billy Pepper’s Fist in the Glass Eye of Jake Phelps, Unanswered’s Social Insecurity and Despise You’s Mental Winter are some of the standout tracks on this uncompromising compilation of loud underground sounds. Any fan of Spazz needs this, cause Skatin and satan go hand in hoof is awesome. Any fan of Charles Bronson need this because their tracks rocks, fans of Despise you need this because they are one of the best power violence bands out there with their very deranged and scummy kind of sound. Back in 1997 when this was released it was a compilation that showed how much skating, thrashcore, grind, power violence and hardcore go together. Nowadays it seems like most of the skaters now are into hip hop and kind of follow that style too, which I think is pretty fucking lame for the most part. This shows us how it used to be, and how it should have stayed.
