Description
1990 CBS release
Pretty Maids is a super fabulous, splendid little band from Denmark that has been kicking around the metal world for over a decade now. They have traded in their established sound quite a few times, to take on various incarnations of it, all of them distinctively Pretty Maids and uniquely metal. In 1987 band defined their sound with typically aggressive rockers alongside more commercial, melodic moments. In 1990 the band released ‘Jump The Gun’ (called Leathal Heroes in the States). It was produced by Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover and offered more of the same catchy riffs that could be found on ‘Future World’. The record label had put in all efforts to break the charts worldwide with this record, but it never took off, except in Japan. Whether it was lack of hits, marketing or simply another glam metal victim of grunge music is unknown, but the record didn’t live up to expectations. The band more or less broke up after the lack of success with this record, leaving only founding members Ron Atkins and Ken Hammer
