Puteraeon from Sweden is an experienced death metal quartet from the outskirts of Gothenburg that have set out to glorify the works of H. P. Lovecraft in their music. Not an uncommon theme among metal bands but not many of them managed to transfer the atmosphere, by which the author is best recognized, onto the record. When doing Lovecraft you need to get the atmosphere right something that Puteraeon has managed musically its an ode to old fellow mans like Grave, Entombed, Dismember and the likes without sounding like a cheap copycat. The Crawling Chaos is the third album and not much has change. This is pure Grave, Entombed and Dismember worship nothing more, nothing less. But armed with a fucking killer mid range Sunlight guitar tone a perfect grasp of groove and melody, the album just clicks perfectly at what it sets out to be. Fans of the Swedish death metal genre should be delighted.
