Official European PAL version. UK release.

A couple of years after the release of Queen’s mammoth three-video bio The Magic Years, a compilation of live material was issued titled Rare Live: A Concert Through Time and Space. Released in most countries (except the U.S.), the video was directed by the same duo responsible for The Magic Years — Rudi Dolezal and Hannes Rossacher. While a wide variety of material is covered from all eras of the band (from their hits to obscurities), the main criticism is that few of the songs are shown in their entirety, and that different performances (of the same song) are edited together. Still, Queen fanatics will enjoy viewing the clips of such uncommon songs as My Melancholy Blues, Liar, You Take My Breath Away, a medley of Big Spender/Jailhouse Rock/Stupid Cupid, and Stone Cold Crazy. More renowned compositions, such as Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Killer Queen, Radio Ga Ga, Love of My Life and We Are the Champions help balance things out. Also included with each clip is the date and location of the performance (as well as attendance statistics). The video also kickstarts with the first Queen performance ever caught on video (1973 in a London rehearsal studio). Rare Live is both a refreshing eye-opener for Queen connoisseurs and a thrilling introduction for the uninitiated, collecting some of the most precious, outrageous and humorous highlights of their live history into one video concert.
