Description
Rare Japan only cd
This album is made up of three rare recordings. First out are 5 rough mix versions from the recording session of Queensryche milestone album Operation Mindcrime. Second is three rare demo tracks that later would end up on their first mini album. Third out is four tracks from the MTV unplugged show that was recorded at the Warner Hollywood/MTV Studios in Los Angeles on the 27th of April 1992. This is a very entertaining performance however this disc lacks the two cover tunes that were performed this evening (the Simon And Garfunkel cover Scarborough Fair/Canticle and Neil Youngs Rockin In The Free World). In an excerpt from the MTV Unplugged book you could read In a moment of strange synchronicity, Queensryche became the second Seattle-area band in three shows to cover ‘Rockin’ in the Free World.’ Stranger still, Neil Young himself bypassed the song when he eventually recorded his own Unplugged. The most lasting memory of this taping is of the ease with which the band worked. Their relationship with both their vocal fans and the entire staff at MTV was both sincere and professional, even after technical problems forced them to run through four takes of Silent Lucidity. For any Queensryche collector this is a fun album to own
