Radiopuhelimet is a Finnish alternative rock band formed in Oulu in 1986. Their style, though varied through the years, could be described as a combination of hardcore punk, noise rock and progressive rock. Besides from performing as a band in a regular sense, they are also known for having contributed in theatre from time to time. In the late 80s the band changed record label to Spirit, a sub label of Sonet. The 1990 album, K.O., opened up more doors for the band and the got the chance to play more shows than before and during the summer of 1990 the band performed Finnish festivals like Ruisrock, Dinosaurock, Suviyön Sumutus and Nummirock. The autumn of 1990 saw the band back in the studio again but the session turned into a half-year break while drummer Jyrki Raatikainen travelled the world. They released their new album, entitled Pian, Pian (“Soon, Soon”), when Raatikainen returned in spring 1991. Although it received a mostly positive response from the music press and the band played as before but no big festival gigs that summer.
