Raging steel is a Swedish 80s sounding thrash death metal act that was founded in Umea in 2008. After two demos they released their debut album Guilty As Charged on the Reining records and it was then followed by this two track demo cassette released in 2012. Raging Steel sound and play like it was 1983/1984 again. Just like on their album this cassette features some real primitive aggression. The hard part of this release is the sometimes blurry sound. I know its a demo and the band probably wants an old school sound but at points it lets the music suffer. The opening song, Awakened They Become, goes off in a furious pace and will definitely clear your ear channels. The second tracks starts with an intro before it goes into a speed metal frenzy. If you like German thrash or the really early Bay area thrash (fast, hard and sometimes a bit muddy) then this is something to check out. I was a teenager in the early 80s and grew up on this kind of music. Raging Steel definitely brings back some fun memories
