2017 reissue with 4 bonus tracks

Ravenous was an Austrian thrash metal act that was founded in Pottschach in 1988 and they managed to get one album out in 1991. This is raw but at the same time technical Thrash in the manner of Sepultura’s albums Arise and Beneth The Remains. Their album Book Of Covetous Souls is not the caliber of album that could ever challenge its vicious German neighbors or the explosive titans of the Bay Area, but I have to think it’s somewhat of a lost classic as far as Austria. There were very few albums of its type from that country, and most of the others came far too late into the game. An interesting album that represents this moment in time well–the end of classic thrash and the flourishing of progressive death. For this reason, any thrasher worth his/her salt should probably check it out.
