The ensuing multi-platinum international success of Bon Jovi allowed Richie Sambora the freedom to take a solo diversion in 1991 for the ‘Stranger In This Town’ record. The first single to be released from the album was “Ballad Of Youth” a song that reached a high of #63 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #59 in the UK. The track was backed up by “Rest In Peace” from the album and the much rarer Jimi Hendrix cover track “Wind Cries Mary” that only was released as a bonus track on the Japanese cd version of the album.
