Original 1985 German press

The Irish musician and composer Robin McAuley begann his career in 1984 as a vocalist for the British band Grand Prix then he went on to Far Corporation. In 1986 he released a solo single called Eloise, which was a cover version of a track written by Paul Ryan, who wrote the track for his twin brother Barry Ryan who had a huge hit with it in 1968. Unfortunately when Robin McAuley released his version as a single in 1986 he wasnt aware that the punk group The Damned also had recorded the track. MCA records released The Damned version as a single at the same time as McAuley released his version. His solo career was short lived as he in 1986 teamed up with Michael Schenker and formed McAuley/Schenker group; MSG.
