Rudra is the Singapore based extreme metal act. They were established in 1992. They started as a death metal band but they evolved into their own death black style they call Vedic metal. The music can be described as a bridge between the east and the west: incorporating Indian traditional music, Sanskrit chants, and mantras into Death/Black Metal. This unique musical creation is what they want the world to know as Vedic Metal. Fore more than five years the band worked on the Brahmavidya trilogy. The trilogy draws philosophical and lyrical inspiration from the Vedas and Hindu philosophy: Brahmavidya: Primordial I (2005) Brahmavidya: Transcendental I (2009) Brahmavidya: Immortal I (2011) Lyrically, the albums revolve around Brahman (the highest universal principle in Hinduism) and Vidya (knowledge/wisdom). Rudra weaves death metal with Sanskrit mantras and ancient wisdom into something totally unique. This is the second part in the trilogy
