There are plenty of reasons why Rock N Rolf Kasparek is so happy with Blood On Blood. We all know the difficulties the cultural sector was faced with during the lockdown. On the other hand, it also gave me and many other artists some extra timesince most releases had to be postponed. I used that time to fine-tune every little detail of my new material. The result is an album that in my opinion is probably the bestin Running Wild’s career to date. Every one of the ten songs sounds exactly as I had it in mind when I composed it. I’ve never been happier with a Running Wild record before, says Rolf. If you love this band than Blood On Blood delivers the goods. Most of the things you do expect from a Running Wild album is here and even the production sounds mid 80s which in this case is a good thing. One track that goes into abit of exploration is the closing epic The Iron Times (1618-1648) that delves into the Thirty Years War between Lutherans and Catholics in the Holy Roman Empire, building something pleasingly opulent and grand from that source material, with several killer hooks and a dash of orchestral, big screen bluster. Rolf might not have been happier than with this album, die-hards will still held the old stuff closest to their heart. But there is still so much to like on this album to prove that the Running Wild ship still has wind in their sails and can raise their flag high.
