The Swedish death metal act Sanctification was formed in Östersund back in 2001 out of the ashes of Divine Desecration. The band hasnt gotten that much recognition which is a shame. They now how to produce some really American sounding death metal even though they are based in Sweden. They are pounding out some ruthless, intense, vicious and brutal death metal. There is one other Swedish band that sounds similar to Sanctification that have gained more exposure and that is Aeon. So if you find Aeon exciting then you need to check out Sanctification. Its satisfying and they have a vocalist as demonic as Aeon. Its US death ala Deicide, Cannibal Corpse and Swedens Aeon so while its not unique and spectacular in anyway its still sounds interesting and fresh so fans that like their death metal to be brutal and grim should check this out. This 2001 demo features two new studio tracks mixed and produced by Hypocrisy and Pain mainman Peter Tägtgren. Opening track Thirst For Blood was also included on a compilation album in Terrorizer Magazine in 2009. Then we have two tracks that can be heard in their studio versions on the bands debut album, Misanthropic Salvation. Here you have the two tracks recorded in a live environment in 2004 which shows that this band is able to pull it off live.
