In 1988, a promotional split album with a unique cover was done with Fifth Angel and Sanctuary. Both bands are featured with 3 tracks each and interview done by Joe Anthony of KISS FM in Seattle. This exclusive disc was only released as a promotional album and are since long out of print Sanctuary Sanctuary, formed in Seattle in 1985, was a pet discovery of Megadeth guitarist Dave Mustaine. He helped get the band signed to CBS/Epic Records, produced their first album, and took them on the road with Megadeth. The band consisted of vocalist Warrel Dane, guitarists Lenny Rutledge and Sean Blosl, bassist Jim Sheppard, and drummer Dave Budbill; after their second album, Sanctuary disbanded, with Dane and Sheppard going on to form Nevermore. This promo features three track from Sanctuarys debut album Fifth Angel Metal band Fifth Angel debuted with an awesome Terry Date produced album that is one of the finest examples (along with Queensryche’s famous EP and with Heir Apparent’s ‘Graceful Inheritence’ LP) of the Seattle’s 80s Heavy Metal Scene. Their music has this characteristic sound of the scene carried out in a more melodic approach and being performed excellently in technical terms. Their debut album garnered such laudatory reviews it was soon picked up by major label Epic Records who remixed it and re-issued it in new sleeve artwork.
