2018 digibook re-issue with 8 bonus tracks

The mid second half of the 80s was Saxons hardest times. The mid ’80s was the time of experimentation for most metal bands and Saxon was no exception. Rock the Nations sees Saxon trying a more commercial sounding approach whilst still trying to be true to their roots. They even got Elton John to do a guest piano performance (he was recording next door) on the aptly titled ‘Party ’til You Puke’. They however got some things done correct like the great ‘Northern Lady’. The band would try to take the commercial approach even one stop more on their following album ‘Destiny’ which is when the band hit the bottom. It would take them 3 years of near silence after that before they finally got their things together and returned with the great ‘Solid Ball Of Rock’.
