American 2015 release on red flesh vinyl with gatefold cover, poster and 4 page insert
Insulter exploded on the Brazilian metal scene with their primitive demo in 1987. After this first demo they changed their name to the sexually charged name ‘Sextrash’. A band that was co-formed by D.D. Crazy of Sarcofago fame. Furthermore it would be the ‘XXX’ EP which would give them their coined death/thrash sound. The first full length album Sexual Carnage is very close sounding to a combination of Sepultura’s ‘Schizophrenia’ and Sarcofago’s ‘I.N.R.I.’ Often displaying thrash montages and blast beats throughout this transitional release. As well as quick raspy vocals and occasional deep growled insults. On Sexual Carnage the biggest sexual offense is the guitars. Often they use a weird high pitched riffing style which is unorthodoxly played. His riffs assault slower palm mutes, paused chords, higher hammer ons, and quick tremolo passages. Another degree of his signatures is to strum the same note and then explosively hit a few notes and go back to the original single string or chord. His solos are another plus side to this album. Ranging from finger tapped abilities to melodic string bending insanity. The bass is mildly heard and seems like a tool to only accent the guitar riffs. D.D. Crazy is literally back in action. The previous release showed a little lacking on his creative abilities for some odd reason. But this release he has much improved on his inconsistencies. His abilities range from paused cymbal hits, hyper snare rolls, quick simple tom hits, and other various batteries. His pace fluctuates from blast beats, thrash beats, and also to the coined Bathory beat (high hat/snare at the same time at thrash speed). The only draw back is the production can be slightly hissy. Sexual Carnage is in a way a continuation of where D.D. Crazy left off with I.N.R.I. So if you still want to listen to furious transitional 80’s/90’s Brazilian death/thrash then pick up Sexual Carnage immediately.
