Last Of The Stories Of Long Past Glories is the debut of Finnish metallers, Sinisthra, a name that derives from the Italian word sinistra, meaning the left side and representing the allegory of creativity, femininity, individuality and general free thinking pathways of the Left Hand, without the hollow satanic or any other religious connotations. The band are now famous for being Amorphis vocalist Tomi Joutsen band before joining Amorphis. Its one of those bands that few had heard of but after Joutsen joining Amorphis its now one of the more sought after albums. Sinisthra plays slow rock music with a rather calm and depressive touch but they also manage to blend hard thunder with beautifully soft and melodious passages. It’s the melding of powerful riffage with gorgeous harmonies that make their music so fresh to the ears. If you love Tomi Joutsen amazing voice you need to hear this one. Amorphis features Tomi with heavy metal vocals, but this is a delectable treat for fans who want to hear him sing of love, romance, and life set to beautiful and hypnotic music.
