Black vinyl with biography insert
This rare and limited vinyl features demo material with Sister and Circus Circus two acts featuring Steven Edward Duren more known as Blackie Lawless. Sister is one of the first incarnations of W.A.S.P. After stints with New York Dolls and Killer Kane, Lawless moved to West Lost Angeles were he formed Sister in 1976. The band featured Wasp guitarist Randy Piper and later also Nikki Sixx and Chris Holmes. The band were hard partying and their demo together with their infamous live gimmicks gave the band a growing following. They had pentagrams, leather, skulls and Lawless stage antics at the time included lighting his boots on fire (a gimmick he later gave to Nikki Sixx) and eating live worms. Sixx borrowed alot of the gimmicks when he started his own band Motley Crue a few years later. In 1979, Blackie Lawless decides to put an end to Sister after constant fights for a stabilized line-up. He and Randy Piper created a new band in 1979 and called it Circus Circus. After a year drummer Tony Richards joined who later would play on the debut album by Wasp. However a Las Vegas hotel had the rights to the name Circus Circus and the band disbanded in 1981. Lawless then joined Nikki Sixx’s band London, with whom he played a few gigs and recorded two songs as demos, though by this time Sixx had already departed to form Motley Crue. In 1982 Lawless switched to bass guitar and along with Randy Piper formed W.A.S.P. The line-up was soon completed with old Sister and Circus Circus members Chris Holmes on lead guitar and Tony Richards on drums and the four of them became one of the notorious heavy metal acts in rock n roll history
