Description
Swedish singer Matti Alfonzetti were part of acts such as Bam Bam Boys, Boxer and Talisman in Sweden and then in Jagged Edge. All of them were melodic hardrock bands but in the early 90s he got involved in much heavier music. Along with his friend George Brave he formed Skintrade that got signed to Polar Music. Their self titled debut was released in 1993 and it received overwhelmingly positive response from both media and audience, with the singles Sick As A Dog and One By One played frequently on radio and TV, including MTV’s Headbangers Ball. The band were now one of the big and upcoming acts from the Scandinavian hard rock scene and they were even honored with a Zeppelin award for Best Hard Rock Album and was nominated for a Swedish Grammis (Grammy equivalent). The music was a mix of grunge with sharp riffs reminiscences of Pantera while still being melodic. Their second album, Roachpowder, was even darker and was released in 1995. However the band split up at the end of that year with the members going their separate ways. This debut is a bit more commercial then their follow up. Here you have the hot hard rocker Soul Sister, the superfunk heavy and album hit, Sick As A Dog, the dirty (explicit lyrics) Parasite and the groovy One By One.
