The soundtrack to Planes Trains And Automobiles, the classic comedy movie by John Hughes with John Candy and Steve Martin, is a bit of a shame really. The movie was a great and the music that was playing in the background was great too. However i will probably never understand why they keep releasing movie soundtracks with songs that werent in the movie or even worse they omit songs that were in it. The soundtrack ot Planes Trains And Automobiles is one of those discs. Songs featured in the film but not included on the soundtrack album include the following: Everytime You Go Away, performed by Blue Room at the end of the film. (Even if it wasn't the original song done by Paul Young), Mess Around by Ray Charles, a song Del Griffith listens to when playing air instruments while driving; swerving and puffing cigarettes, while Neal sleeps, Blue Moon of Kentucky, sung while driving a fire-damaged rental car and Continental Trailways Blues, composed by Steve Earle for the film. The song is included on the 1996 compilation, Ain't Ever Satisfied: The Steve Earle Collection. Then there's (Meet) The Flintstones – sung on the bus. Not essential but it would have been fun hearing John Candy sing this and Three Coins In The Fountain, as Steve Martin tries to sing on the bus. Theese tracks would have made the album great instead of just mediocre. Its as i said a shame as it is a classic movie Track listing: 1.
