Second album by the Swedish Stoner act Sparzanza. Into The Sewers, is a head rush of dark candy coated hard rock. They’ve got a radio friendly sound that’s a delicate balance between Monster Magnet cool, Kyuss grit and Stone Temple Pilots pop sensibilities, with some classic euro-metal influences (Maiden, Sabbath, Scorpions) adding more flavour to their inspirational palette. The first thing you notice about Into The Sewers is the head bobbing guitar riffs, perfect for crushing a beer can against your temple in teenage angst, or jumping around the room playing air guitar when no ones around. It’s mostly up-tempo ass-kicking guitar driven rock and roll, but after a full listen or two, the super melodic choruses of velvet throated singer Fredrick Weileby stick in your head like sweet maple syrup. Pay The Price is the perfect Wyndorf-esque tune with Scott Weiland verses, Euthanasia and Children Shouldnt Play With Dead Things are balls out rock fests. Sparzana’s Into The Sewers is a very solid album with some great songwriting, serious vocal talent, and big riffs packed in.
