Description
Black vinyl single with booklet
Absolutely killer reissue…phased-out spacetime bliss, with teenaged hot licks splayed all over while the band steers the vessel with some surprisingly talented drumming and steady rhythms…a killer riff-driven hard rocker that chugs with a certain punk-like menace…it’s so rare these days to find unheard-of gems like this, and the quality of both tracks is pretty impressive. – RK / Terminal Boredom
Sphex from Ontario, Canada was a basement band comprised of neighbourhood friends who wanted to play hard rock n roll. In early 76 a Montreal filmmaker by the name of Jacques Menard stumbled upon the band when they played a local coffee shop. The band was far heavier then many other local acts and the two tracks that were recorded for the soundtrack at the Montreal National Film Board in 1976 finally got released in 1977. Originally issued as a private pressed vinyl single without sleeve is now selling for hundreds of euros. This has now been officiall reissued with picture sleeve and a 16 page booklet with detailed history and tons of photos. Fans of 70s hard rock need to hear this.
