The self titled Stage Dolls album is the third studio album by Norwegian hard rock band Stage Dolls. Like the first two albums it was recorded in Trondheim, Norway using the same producer, Bjorn Nessjo, and engineer, Rune Nordahl. Stage Dolls was formed back in 1983, the original line-up comprised Torstein Flakne (vocals, guitar, ex-Kids), Terje Storli (bass) and Erlend Antonson (drums, ex-Subway Sect), the latter eventually replaced by Steinar Krokstad. Their third album combine high-tech production with superbly crafted AOR, the songs heavily infused with melody and a keen sense of dynamics. There are only three members in this band but they sound like more. ‘Love Cries’ was released as a single and it became a minor US hit in 1989. On the strength of this, they secured the support slots on the Blue Murder and Warrant USA tours the same year, but failed to build on the initial momentum. This album was released with three different cover artworks depending on what country you bought the album in. If youre into Scandinavian AOR and melodic hardrock then you should get this. This is as good as it gets
