Description

Gold vinyl with an insert featuring extensive liner notes from composer Jonathan Snipes

The soundtrack to the horror movie Starry Eyes was composed by Sub-Pop recording artist Jonathan Snipes (clipping, Room 237), Starry Eyes has been hailed not only as one of the best horror movies of 2014, but one of the best horror films of the last decade. The album features an incredible 100% analogue synth score composed and performed by Snipes that has grabbed the attention of fans of the film worldwide. Starry Eyes and it’s score has received countless awards and accolades. Time has called the film one of the ten best films of South by Southwest. Jonathan Snipes is one of the most gifted composers to bestow his talent in modern film today. Within the new batch of composers working in dark electronica, he creates stunning tales of dread and dismay beautifully without pandering and relying on the now overtly abused Synth wave genre. He previously scored the ROM 237 documentary about Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining… Again the work is magnificent on an almost tribal cerebella level. With only 3 scores under his belt he will become the next Cliff Martinez (Only God Forgives Drive), I am eagerly awaiting to see what project he takes on next.
