Grey marbled vinyl with insert
While their countrymen were exploring Judas Priest-influenced Satanic heavy metal, Steel Angel were more interested in epic, NWOBHM-influenced power metal, with lyrics in English rather than in their native tongue as was customary for the French acts of the time. While the riff style could be thought of as influenced by High Power’s debut with some impressive John Arch-like vocals. Their strength was their traditional riffing coupled with an epic atmosphere, basically only created by the biggest Gods of the US scene. This ended up in cult songs like Warrior, a song, which is almost indescribable in words for me. Unbelievably ingenious, intriguing, conjuring, epic! Already those gigantic solo is one of the best, I’ve ever heard! Or take the title track, totally breathtaking… Midnight is a unique ballad, accompanied by a piano, minimalistic but still breathtaking. Judas (Angel Or Demon), Knights Of The War, The Law or Power And Action are altogether great songs of a brilliant band, full of passion and talent. This re-issue also features two unreleased songs from the 1984 demo. Be prepared for a shock if you haven’t listened to them as both Spread Your Metal Wings and In The Temple Of Your Night are on par with the very best tunes the band ever composed.
