Description

In many ways, Stevie Nicks name has become synonymous with classic rock. Though she’s had a solid solo career since the early 80s, Nicks’ style always has smacked of the same formula that made her band Fleetwood Mac such a success. Her dreamy, introspective vocals combined with lush keyboards and angular guitars have equaled an easily identifiable sound familiar to listeners who grew up hearing the Mac blaring from every radio in the 70s. In 1991 Nicks released her 1991 compilation album Timespace: The Best Of Stevie Nicks. To support the release of this solo retrospective she hit a national tour, dubbed the Whole Lotta Trouble Tour. The tour began in Houston, Texas on July 9 and ended in Los Angeles, California on October 31. However there would be one more show added and that happened at the Whiskey A Go-Go in Los Angeles on November 14, where she performed the Timespace single Loves A Hard Game To Play. This was the only show where she performed that track live. Otherwise the set list was mostly made up by the same 10 songs from the Timespace collection. This rare album was recorded on that last show at Whiskey A Go-Go on the 14th of November 1991. Though this wasnt a tour for a new album it was still enough to sell out the arena where several devoted fans came to hear Stevie crank out the hits. And she didn’t disappoint them. Backed by an impressive, nine-piece band that included percussionist Pete Escovedo (Sheila E’s brother) and former Prince saxman Eddie M., Nicks offered letter-perfect renditions of her most popular material and the Fleetwood Mac chestnut Dreams.
