Here is yet another side project of Daniel form Nocturnal, or to be more precise another Black Metal side project. At the first listen it sounded pretty similar to his stuff in Front Beast to me, but after some more careful listens I must say its pretty different from Front Beast, even though both the project have the same core of tremolo picking, but Szarlems music is also loaded with cheap sounding keyboards that create a more atmospheric sound. Its kind of nature Black Metal with a more Pagan touch than the more straightforward primitive black metal direction that Front Beast have. Szarlem sounds very influenced by the nineties Polish scene to bands like early Behemoth, Graveland, Veles and such. If youre into that kind of black metal then try this out.
