Description
Ted Nugent’s 1995 album Spirit Of The Wild is a return for the Nuge. After a decade or so of lacklustre releases Ted bounced back with this little belter that is easily one of the best, or not even the best, since the 70s. First; how can you not love an album that opens with a track titled Thighraceous and then classic nods back to the 70’s on the likes of Tooth,Fang Claw and Spirit Of The Wild. The album not just cuts away the filler and keeps the wildman’s tendency for indulgence in check but a fair amount of the material does concern itself with the wilderness, which fits right in with his 90s reinvention as a conservative family-values spokesman. That doesn’t mean that it’s a tame record — it means that Nugent sounds committed again, since that passion for hunting and family flows throughout his performance and thats why this album ranks as one of Ted Nugent’s finest moments since State Of Shock. After almost 30 years in the business who thought that the Nuge could come up with a 5 star album again. Spirit Of The Wild sees the Detroit City Madman being reborn again. Being such an outspoken person it might not be seen as a good thing for everyone but for fans of his music its definitely an album we have been hoping to get for decades
